If information wants to be free, why are textbooks so expensive?

Textbooks cost too much. I’m trying to change that.

This site is published by James E. Hanley, Associate Professor of Political Science at Adrian College (Adrian, MI).  The purpose is to provide a free alternative to expensive American Government textbooks.

The site is incomplete, and gets updated as I have time and interest in writing new chapters.

Please feel free to use these chapters in courses. I ask only that you let me know, give me attribution, and don’t revise them.
